As Americans we appreciate the Fourth of July as our Independence Day. It is a time to spend with family, friends, frankfurters and fireworks. Lost in these traditions is some of the history and reasons for the Holiday. Many average Americans do not know why the Holiday is celebrated, who we declared independence day from, and what year the nation was born. Take some time this weekend to talk with your children about the facts behind the Fourth of July. That way the struggles and sacrifice of our founders will not be lost in time.
Have a safe and happy fourth of July.
