Dear St. Sebastian Families,
Back to School Night was a huge success. Thank you to all our faculty and parent volunteers who helped to make this an informational and fun evening. Starting next week St. Sebastian School will be offering a study skills workshop for students in grades 4- 8. The workshops will be on Thursdays for the next 5 weeks after homework club. Included in this email is a flyer to be turned in by Tuesday, Sept. 29th. Alicia Newman will be teaching the classes. Last year Alicia worked at the school with 2nd and 3rd graders and we are delighted to have her back. I highly recommend these workshops to all our middle school and 4th grade students. Next week students will be voting on student council representatives. This will be a difficult task for some of the positions because there are a number of qualified candidates. Good luck to all our candidates, I am very proud of your efforts. On Oct. 4th, we will be recognizing the Feast of St. Francis at the 9:00AM Mass together and joining in a blessing of the animals. Please plan on attending with your student(s) and pet(s) (if appropriate). Students will need to wear their school uniforms at mass. All students who attend in uniform may have free dress on Mon., Oct. 5th. On Oct. 11th the church will be having their annual yard sale. If you have any items that you would like to donate, please contact the church at 310-478-0136. This is a great opportunity to be a part of the St. Sebastian school/church community. Please come by with your family, the food is always excellent!
