Ms. Paola Galaviz (6th, 7th, 8th grades)

Hello! I am currently teaching several subjects in 6th, 7th and 8th grade here at Saint Sebastian. I am the homeroom teacher in 6th and 7th grades.

To start off, I would like to share a little about myself both personally and professionally. I was born in Jalisco, Mexico, and I moved to California when I was in 2nd grade. Growing up, I was part of a youth group in the church of St. Athanasius which is located in Long Beach. Throughout my time at St. Athanasius, I discovered my passion for teaching. I graduated from the University State University Dominguez Hills with a Liberal Studies degree and I am currently enrolled in the Dual-Language Learning Master’s in Education Program. Most recently, I was a student teacher in a Kindergarten dual-language classroom where I experienced first-hand the benefits of bilingual education.

My passion for teaching stems from the personal satisfaction I obtain by helping someone learn something new. Please feel free to stop by my classroom anytime if you need help or simply say hello.
