Q. What type of school is Saint Sebastian School?
A. Saint Sebastian School is a private, Catholic coeducational preschool, elementary and middle school serving preschool, transitional kindergarten, kindergarten and grades one through eight. Our focus is on Dual Language Immersion in Spanish and English.
Q. Are non-Catholics admitted?
A. Yes. We welcome students and families of all backgrounds and denominations.
Q. What languages are taught?
A. Saint Sebastian School is offering dual language immersion program for grades preschool through 4. In 2020-2021, the program will include grades preschool through 5. In this program, students are taught half in English, half in Spanish. Students in grades 5-8 are currently taught Spanish as a second language twice a week.
Q. What are school hours?
A. School hours are 7AM-3PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, with optional aftercare from 3:15PM-6:00PM. On Thursday school hours are 7AM-1PM with optional aftercare from 1:15PM-6PM. Please see our school calendar for any special dates and dismissal times.
Q. Does Saint Sebastian offer a sports program?
A. We currently offer Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys and Girls Volleyball and Co-Ed Track.
Q. What other extracurricular activities are offered?
A. Saint Sebastian offers academic decathlon, private tutoring, music lessons, choir, student council, yearbook club and more.
Q. How early can I drop off my student?
A. Students can be dropped off beginning at 7:00AM every day.
Q. Is there any after-school care?
A. Yes, after-school care is offered from 3:15PM until 6:00PM every day.

Admissions, Tuition and Financial Aid
Q. How does Saint Sebastian tuition compare with other private elementary schools?
A. For the 2020-21 school year, annual tuition at Saint Sebastian is $8,500 (3 year olds) or $9,500 (2 year olds) for Preschool, $7,500 for TK, K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade and $5,700 for grades 6-8. The average private school tuition in Los Angeles, CA is $12,180 for elementary schools. Financial aid is available for qualified families.
Q. What are the steps needed to enroll a new student?
A. The first step is to submit an application. We will follow up to set up a time to visit Saint Sebastian. Depending on your child's age, we may schedule a time for the student to interact with the class and/or take a readiness exam. Please see our admissions timeline for information on deadlines to submit required materials
Q. Is the Dual Language Immersion admissions process different?
A. Yes. Prospective students for our Dual Language Immersion Program (TK, K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) fill out the same application as those in the upper grades. However, these students must take a Dual Language Readiness Assessment Test administered by Saint Sebastian School. The test is taken after the application is received. In addition, students who are applying to enter after kindergarten will be scheduled to visit the school and spend time in the classroom with current students. Students will be evaluated based on their likelihood of success in the program.
Q. When is your admissions deadline?
A. The deadline for priority admissions is February 15th 2020. Students who apply after that date may be admitted on a space availability basis.
Q. Is there a discount for two or more students?
A. Yes. There is a sibling discount of $1,000 for families with two or more children enrolling at Saint Sebastian School.
Q. How is tuition paid?
A. Tuition can be paid in full up front or divided into 10 or 12 monthly payments. Payment is made using FACTS online payment system which withdraws directly from the enrollee's bank account
Q. Can tuition be prorated?
A. If students enroll mid-year, tuition will be prorated based on student's start date.
Q. Are there any costs beyond tuition?
A. There is a $550 registration fee for all grades. This fee ensures your child's space at the school and is collected yearly. New and used school uniforms are available. There may be additional fees for afterschool activities and lunch.
